The most common voice problem is prolonged or recurrent hoarseness. Others include increased effort to speak, neck pain or a sore throat when speaking, a soft voice, and vocal fatigue during or after speaking.

Individuals I work with have a wide range of disorders, personal characteristics and circumstances, including those with no serious problems to those with multiple physical, psychological, and financial challenges.

The clients I see are most often diagnosed with:
  • Vocal nodules
  • Muscle tension dysphonia or MTD
  • Acid-reflux laryngitis
  • Vocal fold paralysis or paresis
  • Age related voice changes
Other disorders include:
  • Vocal fold polyps or cysts
  • Chronic laryngitis
  • Vocal fold bowing
  • Spasmodic dysphonia or SD
  • Vocal tremor
  • Vocal fold redness/swelling
  • Incomplete vocal fold closure
